CREW WANTED FOR SOUTH PACIFIC CRUISING

We are looking for crew capable of adding value to a yacht crew cruising from New Zealand to Indonesia via Vanuatu, The Solomon Islands and Papua New Guinea. The voyage will be over 5 months and split into 3 legs allowing the right crew to join for the whole thing or for one of three parts.

The yacht is a very well appointed 2 year old Neel 51 trimaran. It has all the mod cons (as my Mum would say) and is a delight to live on board. She is specced for remote trade winds cruising.

You should be fit & healthy and you won’t be a stranger to soap and water. We expect that we will all ‘muck in’ &
pull our weight, contributing to all aspects of passage-making & cruising on a yacht. It’s not all sunsets and
sangrias after all. There’s no room for passengers although, ironically, our living space is relatively huuuuge.
Anyone that has sailed ocean passages and/or cruised on yachts will know that the ability to get on with people
is essential. A level of tolerance of others and good humour are important. We also expect you to have a decent set of sailing skills and probably the ability to lead a watch (i.e. recognise shipping at night, use AIS, reef sails shorthanded, etc).

If you are a medic, engineer or such like, please say!

You certainly don’t have to be the next Grant Dalton but your ability to safely stand short-handed night watches and be trusted to recognise the usual hazards - and squalls - is critical.

Non-sailors, big egos, ‘Walter Mitty’ characters, or ‘Dead Calm’ psychopaths need not apply, but if you are
between the ages of say twenty-something and fifty-something, have enough time for one or more legs of our
voyage and can get the appropriate visas (if and when needed) then we’d really love to hear from you!

This could be a very special 2025 for the right people, but time is short. We leave Auckland in mid April! Check out the link for more info.
