Leeway-25 still needs to be build
About Expedition Leeway-25:
Inspired by Thor Heyerdahl’s 1947 Kon-Tiki voyage, this non-commercial adventure aims to explore the full potential of pre-Columbian rafts. Following a successful test run in Sweden, we'll embark on a North Atlantic journey from Norway to Greenland on a precolumbian raft.
The crew and volunteers will build the raft almost exclusively by hand in Norway during a duration of 6-8 weeks.
We’ll launch northeast of Bergen and aim to reach greenland via the Faroes and Iceland.
It is possible to join only for the sailing part!
Key Dates:
Build Start: March 10, 2025, near Bergen, Norway (6-8 weeks construction)
Launch Date: Around April 26, 2025 (weather and building process dependent)
Voyage Duration: Until the End of July/ Beginning of August
